Monnaie frappée sur un flan presque quadrangulaire et fragmentaire. Droit et revers mal frappé, mais patine brillante, comme s’il s'agissait du brillant de frappe au droit, mais terne et poreuse sur une partie du revers

LYON (LUGDUNUM)
(7th-8th centuries)
The Merovingian coinage of Lyon is broken down into Roman imitations, triens of Frankish kings, coins and a large series of triens "struck in Forez and Vivarais during the Saracen occupation" (divided into three groups). With regard to money, a denarius is in the name of Rognoaldus otherwise, all denarii are episcopal. These denarii are characterized by the legend LV(G) and a cross confined to the letters EPS.
