Superbe petite monnaie, de frappe vigoureuse et centrée avec une belle patine de collection ancienne, mais malheureusement fragmentaire !

Комментарий
Ce type de denier est bien connu, mais semble très rare. Le MONETA ne recense qu’un seul exemplaire ; celui du trésor de Plassac qui est repris dans le Belfort n° 6870 et 6627 et conservé à la BN sous le n° 2750. C’est aussi le même exemplaire que le n° 536 de la collection Gariel;

The Tours workshop is one of the important production sites of the Merovingian period, with a special place for the Saint-Martin abbey and the cathedral church of Saint-Maurice. Over a period of nearly two centuries, the authors have identified 99 coins (45 triens and 54 deniers) minted for the city, Saint-Martin and Saint-Maurice.
