VOYER D’ARGENSON
The Voyer family is from Paulmy near Loches in Touraine and has several historical figures including Regnault, comrade in arms of Louis IX. In the 16th century, the family was divided between the Voyers of Paulmy and the Voyers of Argenson, which included state councillors, a police lieutenant and a governor of New France. This token certainly belongs to Marc-René (1652-1721), lieutenant general of police in 1697 and president of the Council of the Interior (1715).
